Presenter guidelines

Oral presentations

If your abstract has been accepted for an Oral Presentation, please refer to the instructions below:

  • Oral abstract presentations will take place during the parallel sessions (see scientific program). Oral presentations will consist of 7 minutes presentation followed by 5 minutes of Q&A.

  • Please prepare your presentation in Microsoft PowerPoint (16:9 aspect ratio, landscape). A template for the title slide is available for download below (available shortly). We kindly ask you to use this title slide. You are free to design the remaining slides as you wish.

  • Presenters are expected to email their PowerPoint presentation to info@painscienceinmotion.com no later than Thursday, May 21.

  • To stimulate discussion between the delegates and individual presenters, please use the provided time to give enough information regarding the background, methodologies, results (if available), (possible) implications and process evaluation of your research during your presentation.

  • The event will be attended by a variety of scientists and health professionals/clinicians. Your presentation should be understandable by anyone with a general background in life sciences and medicine.

  • All young researchers presenting their work orally at the congress qualify for the oral presentation awards (1 audience and 1 scientific jury award). The winner will be announced during the closing and awards ceremony. Being present at the ceremony is mandatory to receive the award.

Poster presentations

If your abstract has been accepted for a Poster Presentation, please refer to the instructions below:

  • All posters will be presented during guided poster walks. A designated time for presentation will be assigned to each poster (see scientific program). During the poster walk, presenters will get 3 minutes to orally present their poster, followed by 3 minutes of Q&A.

  • Posters should follow a scientific format presenting background, methodology, results (if available), (possible) implications, and process evaluation for your research. Please make sure that your poster can be read and interpreted in a logical order. Poster presenters are required to install their posters before the start of the congress program on their assigned date of presentation. Posters need to stay up during that complete congress day. Presenters will have 30 minutes to take down their posters after the end of the program on their assigned date. Posters not retrieved by the presenter will be discarded.

  • The size of the poster should not exceed 177 cm in height and 97 cm in width. We advise printing the poster in A0 format (118cm x 84cm).

  • Posters should be printed in portrait format. Both posters printed on paper or textile are accepted.

  • Material to put up the poster will be available in the Poster area.

  • Make sure to add the title of your presentation and the respective authors to your poster.

  • All young researchers presenting their poster qualify for the poster award (1 audience and 1 scientific jury award). The winner will be announced during the closing and awards ceremony. Being present at the ceremony is mandatory to receive the award.
