About the conference

PAIN SCIENCE IN MOTION

The pain models of tomorrow can be found in the research questions of today

The focus of this colloquium is on research methods in pain sciences, rather than on research findings or clinical applications. Researchers from different fields of pain research (fundamental, clinical, psychological, genetics, rehabilitation, methodological) will present their work and reflect on the research methods used. Vivid discussions in a very friendly and positive atmosphere will address the specific value of the methods used and new horizons for the field of pain research.

Most importantly, the colloquium provides a forum for PhD-researchers to share ideas, network, present research findings, and discuss pain science issues. The colloquium is open to all PhD researchers in the field of pain no matter the discipline or how far along they are in preparing their PhD.

This gives young researchers a chance to present on an international stage early in their career, to meet fellow pain researchers and to discuss their research. Moreover, attendees will have the opportunity to hear from senior researchers that are invited to give a keynote lecture, and to meet them during “meet the expert” roundtable sessions.

Join us in Brussels from May 28–30, 2026 for a dynamic congress that challenges how we think about research and pain.
